Voice banking and word-based communication.

I consulted on Starling, a PoC for personal voice banking and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), with people living with ALS and other conditions in mind.

Voice banking starts with recording or uploading a sample, then reviewing a transcription and trying generated speech. The communication sandbox takes a different path: select words, build a sentence, and speak it aloud.

The PoC also explores calibrated eye tracking and dwell selection as another way to choose words. Its AAC sandbox uses the browser’s speech voice.
