The room is part of the image

Reko Rennie’s Patternation transformed the gallery at UVA’s Kluge-Ruhé Aboriginal Art Collection with an intricate diamond pattern and his kangaroo imagery. Squid and Beard documented the artist’s time in Charlottesville through a short film and a 360-degree view of the installation.

Preserve a way to experience it

An installation changes as you move through it. Film can follow a process and a person; a panorama lets the viewer choose where to look. Together, they offer different ways into work that was temporary, spatial, and much larger than one fixed frame.
